I found it odd, but in order to install the driver for this tape drive, you must first install this Sony Backup utility. Once you install this program and reboot, the computer will then find and install the drivers for your tape drive. (Sony Tape Backup sdt 7000 on a Win98SE PC). If you have Windows NT, 2000, or XP, you can download the files from here sony.storagesupport.com/dds/sdt_7000dwn.htm
