Hey, finally got my WD7296 to work on Win98. Here is what I did. Took out all of my cards and rebooted the system to a DOS prompt. Loaded FLEXware drivers and proceeded to reboot 98. Then the driver still didn't work and I removed it in safemode. I have a Etherlink PCI with busmastering. I installed it in the busmastering slot and then installed my WD7296 in the next slot after it. I booted to windows without any devices connected to the card and Windows (by a miracle) picked up the card. I rebooted my machine and attached the SCSI devices. Ba Da Bing, everything works. It is a frustrating process but I finally got it to work. Hope this helps.
